Ingredients

For the Sliders:

  • 9-pack slider buns (Hawaiian rolls or brioche recommended)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded chicken
  • 1/2 cup Frank's buffalo hot sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ranch dressing
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup shredded Colby Jack cheese (or cheese of choice)

For the Garlic Butter Topping:

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a 9x9 baking dish or casserole dish with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, buffalo hot sauce, ranch dressing, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well until the chicken is evenly coated.
  • Slice the slider buns in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves into the lined baking dish.
  • Divide the buffalo chicken filling evenly over all the bottom buns. Top generously with shredded cheese. Place the top halves of the buns back on to close the sliders.
  • In a small bowl, stir together the melted butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Brush this mixture generously over the tops of the buns using a pastry brush.
  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake at 350°F for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, until the tops are lightly golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven. Cut apart and serve immediately while hot.

Notes

Make-Ahead Tip: Prepare the chicken filling up to 2-3 days ahead and store in an airtight container in the fridge. Assemble and bake when ready to serve. Do not assemble ahead of time as the buns will become soggy.
Freezer Tip: The chicken filling can be frozen in a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before using.
Air Fryer Option: Assemble as directed. Air fry at 400°F for 8-10 minutes until golden and the cheese is melted.
Cheese Variations: Swiss, provolone, Monterey Jack, or pepper jack all work great as substitutes.
Heat Level: For a milder version, reduce buffalo sauce to 1/4 cup and increase ranch. For extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne to the filling.
Serving Suggestions: Serve with French fries, potato wedges, celery sticks, veggie platter, or a crisp side salad. Extra ranch and buffalo sauce on the side for dipping.
