Servings 8 sticks

Ingredients

  • 2 tubes crescent dough sheets
  • 1 pound deli-sliced ham
  • 8 cheddar cheese sticks
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried minced onion or onion powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon poppy seeds

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it lightly.
  • Unroll both crescent dough sheets and cut each one into 4 equal rectangles, giving you 8 pieces total.
  • Layer ham slices evenly on each piece of dough, then place one cheddar cheese stick on top.
  • Fold the short ends of the dough inward, then roll up to seal. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, stir together the melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, minced onion, and poppy seeds.
  • Brush the butter mixture generously over each stick.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool for 1–2 minutes, then serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Use the crescent dough sheet version (not triangles) for easiest rolling. Place rolls seam-side down to prevent opening during baking. Serve immediately for the best gooey cheese experience. These can be assembled up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerated unbaked. Freeze unbaked rolls for up to 1 month and bake from frozen, adding a few extra minutes.
