Homemade mango iced tea in a large pitcher for a party with multiple glasses and a self-serve summer drink station setup

Homemade Mango Iced Tea

Prep Time 15 minutes
Servings 2

Ingredients

  • 2 black tea bags (or 2 tsp loose leaf tea)
  • 1 large ripe mango (or frozen mango cubes)
  • 1.5 cups water, divided
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Ice

Instructions

  • Boil 1 cup of water. Steep the 2 tea bags for 3 minutes, then remove them. Stir in 2 tablespoons of honey until fully dissolved. Set aside and let the tea cool completely.
  • Cut the mango into pieces and add to a blender with the remaining 1/2 cup of water. Blend until smooth.
  • Strain the blended mango through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing with a spoon to extract all the nectar. Discard the pulp.
  • Fill two glasses with ice. Pour the cooled honey tea into each glass until about two-thirds full.
  • Slowly pour the mango nectar over the top of the tea to create a beautiful layered effect.
  • Garnish with a fresh mango slice on the rim and serve immediately.

Notes

  • To serve at a party, double or triple all ingredients and store the brewed tea and mango nectar in separate pitchers in the fridge. Assemble glasses right before serving.
  • For a stronger brew that holds up to ice, use 3 tea bags instead of 2.
  • Freeze leftover mango nectar into ice cubes to prevent dilution.
  • For an adults-only version, add a splash of rum, coconut vodka, or peach schnapps to each glass.
  • Substitute green tea or herbal tea for a caffeine-free or lighter-flavored version.
