Honey mint green iced tea party drink station with pitcher, mason jars, and fresh mint garnish

Simple Honey Mint Green Iced Tea

Prep Time 5 minutes
Servings 6

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 green tea bags
  • 3 sprigs fresh mint, plus more for garnish
  • 1/4 cup honey, plus more to taste (up to 1/2 cup)
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 1–2 cups ice

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat immediately.
  • Add the 4 green tea bags and 3 mint sprigs to the hot water. Cover the pot and let steep for 15–20 minutes. For a stronger tea, steep up to 30–45 minutes.
  • Remove and discard the tea bags and mint sprigs.
  • While the tea is still warm, stir in the honey until fully dissolved. Taste and add more honey if desired.
  • In a large pitcher, add 1–2 cups of ice and 2 cups of cold water. Pour the tea mixture over the top and stir to combine.
  • Serve over ice in glasses or mason jars. Garnish with fresh mint sprigs. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Do not pour aggressively boiling water over green tea - it can make the tea bitter. Letting the water rest off the heat for 30–60 seconds before steeping makes a noticeably smoother cup.
  • Honey dissolves best when stirred into warm (not cold) tea. Always sweeten before adding cold water and ice.
  • This tea can be made 1–2 days in advance and stored covered in the refrigerator. Stir before serving.
  • For a sparkling version, replace the 2 cups cold water with club soda or sparkling water.
  • To scale for a party, simply double or triple the full recipe.
